The "Geezers at the Grove" was also a great happening. Not only alot of ole timers from the 1964 Eastern Drag News Top Dog Meet were there but also their kids and grand-kids and great-grand-kids. Checkout the http://www.MapleGroveRaceway.com website for pictures and the inductees into the 2010 "Walk of Fame". Man what changes have happened there from 1964. A surprise article on me and the (JA) JAck Approved Club appeared in their racing newspaper. Get a copy of the now (JA) 1320 Drag Racing News Hotline Vol. 34 - Issue No. 2.
New members from there and some old ones too are; Lex Dudas, Kathy Phillips, Mike Lewis and the Don Schumacher "Stardust" Funny Car with his wife Vicki. The newspaper Editor Evan Jones, announcers Dave Thomas, Roger Leister, Mark Dawson, Bruce Wilson, Don Carrick, Phil Hutchinson, Jack Matyas, Kelsey Thomas, Stephen Vriett, Bobby Frye and the "Frantic Ford" funny car, Roger Toth, John Hadyniak's AA/FA "Hell Bound", and Joan Hadyniak, Anthony Winchester, John Kracise, Dennis Jones, Meghan stiles, Della Stiles, Will Perdieu, Jim Reppert, Keith Hildebrandt, Tony Elmo, Marie Rivera, Robin Strambaugh, and the Southern Dirt & Garden-State Vintage Club(.com) and website.
More members are; Zach Parmer, Davis E. Thomas, Destinee Willaims, Charlie Lutz, Cassanda Frey, Rick Stiles, Megan Baumener, Sean Baummener, Kristeena Roupp, Betsy Thomas, and last The "Moose" Crew; Paul Weller, Scott Weller, Tanya Weller, Bruce Wilson & Anthony Winchester and all of the spectators and racers the "Geezers" Meet.
Also last but not the least Brian Beattie's "Great Expectations" AA/FD with my son John Redd doing the "Cracklefest" with the car at the beginning of the show. Now that was a "THRILL" for me AND John! The spectators and the photographers loved it too! Yes, I celebrated in the "Grove" beer garden. Great wine and a pretty lady server too!
Any misspelling of names let me know for corrections.
