Welcome dumboson!!

Was doing some surfing and came across this. Maybe you've seen it already? Found here @ http://www.nhra.com/blog/dragster-insid ... e-g-force/

This short write up is at the bottom of the picture. (Irwindale Raceway was a hotbed for injected Funny Cars in the 1970s. You might recognize the car in the far lane of this 1971 'Dale shot as the Evolution Corvair of Gary Henderson (featured in the E column of the Misc. Files); in the near lane is the Dumbo Barracuda of Jon Giardina, complete with an elephant mascot (not sure what Disney would have done had they found out!). Giardina had campaigned an ex-Charlie Allen Dodge Dart Funny Car before moving into this more sleek ride.)

Cool stuff. Phil Burgess is really hitting it out of the park with that Dragster Insider column. bp

The NEW Guy

Postby RPM » Sun Oct 25, 2009 7:41 pm

Hey everyone, my name is Roger and I'm a Gearheadaholic. 8)

I am a Motorsports Photographer, so this introduction will contain several pictures.

I live in the NW and have been into cars and racing for about as many years as I can remember. I started out with buying my first bone stock car when I was 15 and I still own it (I'm 44 now.) however, it has gone through some changes.

Lately I have gotten into Quads (ATV's) and things are no different. It's still all about going Fast and looking good while doing so.

I own my own business (Commercial Janitorial), so I have a lot of time to play. I am a self taught "Artist" and before owning the Janitorial business, I made an attempt to make a living at it doing Automotive Art and in fact produced several Limited Edition Prints. "THRILL RIDE" of the PURE HELL F/A car (Pictured below), "SUPER SNAKE" of Don Prudhomme behind the wheel of the Shelby SUPER SNAKE (Pictured below) and "STRAIGHTLINE HUSTLER" of the CHI TOWN HUSTLER car (Pictured below) as well as a few others.

Because I was drawing from photographs, the natural progression was to draw from my own photos. Thus my photographic career started. I now shoot for Drag Racer Magazine and recently shot an event for Drag Illustrated Magazine. I shot at Woodburn Dragstrip for about 7 years, but haven't done so for several years. I don't draw anymore, but keep telling myself I need to....... Been saying that for about 3 years now. :?

Anyway, I am enjoying the site so far and it seems like a Great bunch of people. If anyone needs anything and I can help out in any way, Please feel free to ask. The worst thing I can do is say No.
