Well the "anti 4-wide" won't like this: Just read a story about Chris Blair VP at Vegas. He said we're gonna be watching Zmax real close. Blair said, Vegas was built with 4 lane in mind. He also stated: "We're ready, everything is in place, all we need to do is add concrete & asphalt."

Sounds like they have Acme paving on speed dial...... :P :P

The other day I finally got my NAtional Dragster and read the overview of how they are going to do the 4 wide format...4 cars at a time, the two quickest advance. A question that screams out to be answered is this...if BOTH of the left track cars get to the finish line before the cars on the right, do Both of those cars advance? Or, do the quickest from each track advance? And....ok...I kinda understand going 4 wide for the first 2 rounds...but how in the world are they going to determine which two cars get to join the 'finalists' ? I'm SOOOOO Confused.....to "me"....I agree with Ashley Force Hood..."That's just Stupid..."

Billy, if I understand it, the first two to the finish line out of all 4 lanes advance.
( not the two quickest ET's. )

Zappy, thanks for the clarification. Billy had a solid point and I also had the same question myself. I appreciate how you have made intelligent, polite and helpful posts throughout this thread. You're a very classy (carts) guy. Thanks, Billy, for asking about that. I was wondering the same thing. Cheers, WC1

I guess NHRA has no real concept of drag racing heritage though they do give it lip service.
Do away with the 1/4 mile and now for 2010 4 lane pro qualifying AND eliminations with a wacky format.
It won't be long before we'll have a school bus jumping 50 bicycles instead of wheelstanders.

I'm sending off my AHRA membership asap!

Please support your local dragstrip that supports real drag racing.
