Thanks, everyone! We do miss you! Here are some early pre-competition shots from Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday morning, May 16, 2010. A significant amount of rain fell in the middle of the night, which delayed competition until 12 noon. The event will be run on the eighth mile because the top end is oozing a little water. We arrived Sunday (today) at noonish, saw Bob Wenzleburger, met the Mrs. , hung out with Dick Estevez, Stambaugh's, Bill Stiles, Lynwood Chassis Jack Thomas, Hemi Fred, & Nick,Fred Bear, Sam, Host Doug Rice, we saw Jack Redd, watched 1st round and wearily headed home..sorry we missed you.
Long great weekend Piedmont, VMP......saw Ron Horton..He was busy..

I'm glad everyone got together at my favorite track ever...VMP

2 drag strips in 3 days..I loved it..
At Piedmont, I saw many old friends and spent a bit of time with the Ramchargers ( including Tom Hoover), also in attendance..Ted Spehar, Arnie (now 80 years old), ran good..Pete Hill & Jim Prices T/F Harleys and more........
It was heartwarming to have Bubba Turner & veteran starter Leon..talk nice about our ProMod appearances at Piedmont...

Me, too, Don...Wheelz, I didn't remember that you and Sharon were there, too! Glad you and Beverly had a good time, Wally! RH, you pulled off a great one! Wish I'd have been able to make it up there. Back home... it was a fun weekend. Sorry i missed Wally. I stayed in the tower for most of Saturday with computer problems while uploading those pics. bp

Great shots!! How about those Stambaugh nitro flames??? When you see daytimers like that it's usually time to seek shelter!!!! Nothing hurt so it was all good
Very nice to meet Ohio Dave,Heidi and Tur...I mean T,Zapp and LL , Wheelz,& Sharon( LL...wear that pocket T with pride!..hahaha! )and see buds JA-BP-lens Ace Bob W.-Bunny and the east coat regulars.Problem was it seemed hard for me to get that anything that D-list did due to always being wrong place at right time.I did catch a fleeting glimpse of Wally and his beautiful bride Beverly( how the heck did that happen...poor Bev probably suffers impaired vision.. ) but by the time I had finished whatever I was doing they had vanished.Thanks Gator for taking time from a long weekend to stop by.I don't think I was in one spot for more than 5 minutes the whole weekend and enjoyed every minute.Getting to walk Jim and Alison Lee under the tent to see their race car for the first time in over 35 years and participating in the first successful cackle will stay with me forever.Pacer Scott Snizek told me he captured a great shot of the moment and will send me a copy.You can bet I'm gonna take that by the Lees farm and get it signed and it will occupy a prominent place in my home.
Too many people to thank but all the support was appreciated.Daryls Gunslinger Altereds club gets a special thanks for the long travel ,great turnout of cars and the show they provided.If you get a chance to see them please do.
