I just gotta ask....... are Zappy and Zippy the Wonder Slug related????????????????
I thought I responded to this but I must have hit preview opps
Zappy and I are but not Zippy. Zippy the Wonder slug is my car. I used to call anything that was slow Zippy the wonder slug, I suppose just a different take on calling someone a slow poke. Then this summer I took my daily driver (kia rio) out to the drag strip a couple of times. I had a blast but was by far the slowest thing there so I have dubbed the car Zippy the Wonder Slug.

First drag race, Sanford Maine, 1957. So long ago the guy from Florida was running carburaters. basically ran flatheads until I moved to New Jersey in 65. Got into dragsters then, as a driver, B/G on up to a top fueler. Crashed in April of 67. Now, back into it with a VRA top fueler. Everything is new to me, now. Even a rookie driver, my brother, who had never been in a race car, or on a drag strip. we are learning.
