FORD SUMMIT

Postby animal jim » Wed Jul 28, 2010 3:30 pm

:D We had a great time at the Ford Summit in Norwalk last week end. :D Even though the rain and heat Gods were testing us. Finally by Sunday afternoon we had great weather.

Linda and I had a chance to buy one pound of Bader's Ice Cream for a $1.00@. The Moose Tracks Rocks!

Friday night we had all you can eat-Great Lakes Perch and Fries at MAWS. A independent family eatery. Yum. I could not finish the first serving there was so much.

Sat. night-all 6 of us ate at AppleBees in Sandusky. It was late and sadly-MAWS was closed.

Sunday evening after my last run-we actually ate outside our trailers. In chairs :!:    Al and Ned brought and fixed all kinds of food. So they nuked and grilled a feast :D

Al Schmitt-my old crew chief remarked, "You know this is the first time in all our years racing-we ever took time to sit down, relax eat like this at the track." We were always thrashing or loading to get to the next gig to perform or home to thrash.

Hell the next thing you know I will be hauling a grill around.   And serving burgers, brats and 150 proof "Apple Pie Drink"

Along with the many fans and friends we talked to- several were Draglist people.

Fans were great. People seemed to enjoy seeing my old BIg Animal 57 Merc. and Zeke performed the 3 runs with trade mark ballistic launches and burnouts. I even cut an .020 light. Somehow God has let me keep that skill. 8)

The track was in great shape. Do to Fri. night's heavy rains the track had weepers when the sun got high for a while on Sat.-and I'll be damned-the track crew fixed it. By the time I got on it it was great. 8) That was one of the best track surfaces I ever was on. It always was.
I deemed the event- for us anyway-a success. I fullfilled my contract, no breakage, smooth trip and I got paid-and now can pay some bills

With Linda Lou as my book keeper-Bills are always paid on time. :D
It has been quite a ride!
