Randy, I just googled 1980 Corvette...there are 4 pics that pop up right away...I am paying attention to the red one, second from left...it seems both of us are correct...the body does "roll" over the front and sides and the grill and headlights are rather small...Where in the world do they get the flat spot idea on that body for N/FC's?????

I like Corvette's to Randy, as if you didn't know that.

Billy, I can't see them. Here's a red one I've seen before.
Don't let the fenders throw you, they've been flared to cover those big tires.

Nice pics and points from Jean and Billy...I haven't read the rule book but from looking at the body that Rapid posted, I'd bet dollars to donuts that the rules specify a maximum distance to which the front end of a car can extend forward from the center point of the front wheelz. This is an elementary statement, but doesn't it work like the staging lights are activated by the center of the front wheel but the finish line lights go by the nose of the car? Hence the nosepiece must be a certain length ahead and no more? Cheers, WC1

Correct WC, that is one of the reasons the Vette body was a "Good Choice" due to the front over hang triping the lights at the stripe.

The rule is 40" max measured from center of the wheel.

I guess you'd end up with stuff that looks like this if they didn't have that rule...(apologies to Jean)

The nose on the car may appear longer than usual, as it has a cold.
