Not car related but it's that time of year again.
This year I was asked to make 2 backdrops for the Christmas musical. They are 12 ft. tall X 24 ft. wide. One is Golgotha & the other a Christmas Living room. They are mounted on 6 triangle shaped 4'x12' panels. The third side of the tri-panels are just painted a solid color so I only have to do the 2 mural sides. I thought about this over the last month or so and decided the best way to go about it was to do a wrap.
In the Golgotha pic. I cropped the original as much as I could to fit the 12'x24' format & added about 3' of sky. Instead of the clear blue sky in the original pic., I gave it a look of a storm brewing. This is an actual picture of Golgotha, so I had to remove a few things. There are monuments, a wrought Iron fence & a clump of trees on top of the hill that needed to go away to fit what is going on in the musical (more on that later). Also, I had to remove a street light and a couple other items that most likely weren't there back in Biblical times.
The living room was also the wrong format, so some serious cropping needed to be done. This pic. ended up being a bit larger than real life so the furniture looked a little odd. I erased the furniture, added a few more poinsettias, and added the name of the musical under the mantle.
Golgotha started out at 230kb and the living room original was a mere 116kb. It took some serious pixel enhancement to get these things to 24' wide. They ended up at about 2.5gb per panel - 6 panels per backdrop.
I have a bunch of Styrofoam stage stuff to build yet, a Christmas tree to build & a few other misc. items to make. I'll post 'em when I get them figured out.
[ This time of year always ends up being a thrash but it's fun building stuff that I only get the chance to build once a year. ]
