With this being the 30th anniversary of the 1976 "Indy" coming up, I'm hoping to read anyone's comments about their "Indy" experiences. I've been there only five times (74-75-76-94-01), the first three being my favorites, But I have to say seeing Connie Kalitta win in 94 was really cool............Perry Jr.

8) most of my memories are blurred into a big bagOstuff in a corner of my brain.... my first trip was 1977 with soon to be wife #1 and a buddy of late uncle Curt and his girlfriend.... we drove up in his new Ford pinto wagon of all things but no camera  just went for final eliminations on monday. we had the girls dressed to the 9s with short shorts and high shoes  fun but they were a burden ( too hot, too noisy,to dusty, they just didn't get it and we decided to never bring our own women along again :D ) my next laps were every year between 1980-1989 skipping 86 while getting married and srtting up house with wife #2  then back up a few times in the early 90s.i have all the national dragster magazines from those days to refresh my mind of what i saw. had a lot of fun in raceview campground over the years  seeing Darrel G. in his wheelchair on the starting line less than a year after his crash is a vivid and emotional memory.. watching the pink balloons released for Shirley, getting a pic with Linda was cool, the tribute to Blaine was powerful and Elmer,..... jeeez good thing i'm drinking coffee right now or i'd be blubbering all over the keyboard about now :( the only pics i have to send you Perry are from 81 or 82 i think when my brother rode up with us. Ihave had the pleasure to stand on the starting line the last 2 years with our bracket car during div 3 finals and can't wait to get back this fall ! here is a pic of Linda and I, and a girl i met at the 1000ft mark the next year... sorry bout the band pics mixed in  that's how the Imageneighbor grouped them when he scanned them

That's great, Perry. We need to get those dudes uploaded to the respective cars on the drag lists... they look great. bp
Hey Bill, guide me where as to I can find any of the photos attached to their respective cars............Perry Jr.
Hi Perry. We haven't begun to do it yet. Danny has a huge list of stuff he works on every day. I mostly do cleanup work so far (ensuring all states are the right spelling, fixing all the class names, etc. I'm not done with that either). As soon as we can, we'll begin uploading your comp plus photos along with a credit for you and the ebay URL where folks can find your photos. If you are interested in putting some up yourself, I can tell you how to do that, too... bp

Hey Jim, I also remember the first time I got to be on the starting line at Indy, with my buddy's Super Comp car at the division 3 race, it was a great feeling to be on such "hallowed" ground..............Perry Jr.

8) Perry... yep that is my goal to get there again this fall as a qualified car intead of an alternate like the last 2.. we were good to go in pro/et last year but took a street/et spot as we don't run a transbrake so it was a decision we made... lost again in 1st round  Istill haven't got the pics from the 2005 event :( from Bill (racer 403 ) I need to work on him harder i guess.. hallowed ground is correct... my uncle was allways a few tenths off pace to compete there and allways booked a show somewhere else that weekend.. never pulled through the gates with him at INDY. Allways thought that someday i would compete and now i have only with a bracket car and allways a couple weeks later than the BIG GO but it still feels great to go up there to race.... with over 400 teams and their rigs it looks almost as cool as going to the U.S. NATS but a glance at the grandstands tells you right away it is not quite the same  but as you know, standing in the sticky spot on the starting line at INDY is better than most folks will ever experience in their life so as my tag line states..good to go !!
