Hi all! I had a great time. (Surprise!)
I hung out off and on all day with the following folks in no particular order.
Ohio Dave, Jungle Pam, Randy Lieberman, Jungle Pam, Bill Pratt, Tim Pratt, Jungle Pam, Rocky Pironne, Jack Redd, Jungle Pam, Bunny Burkett, and actually chatted a bit with Alison Lee! How cool is that?!
I've probably spelled some names wrong but I'm frozen and tired!

I can't believe that Bandit didn't mention that he saw Jungle Pam from afar... he may have caught a brief glimpse of Bunny Burkett, too. Maybe these pics will solve the mystery! bp

I wish we could have gone!

From the pics that are posted, it sure does appear that folks were having a pretty d*rn good time at VMP... I see that some of my all time favorite people of the so-called "nostalgia movement" were there (despite the impression you'd get from some of the internet, uh, the truth is that the majority of folks who are involved with the nostalgia scene aren't completely out of their minds-- ha ha)... Jungle Pam is always a lovely and extremely gracious guest to have around... I've known Rocky Pirrone for a long, long, long time, and he stands as being one of the most genuine of racers in this nostalgia scene-- He's the real thing... Jack Redd is a drag strip scholar and a gentleman... And Bunny Burkett is a lady who I have the utmost respect and admiration for-- She is without doubt one of the strongest spirits this sport has ever produced... And kudos to Bill and DragList for supporting the event... Thanks for posting the pics... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

It was strange not being able to work on a car but the bench racing was second to none. Talking with Tim Pratt was a great time. He brought up cars and people that I haven't thought of in years! I watched the whole first round with Pam, Randy, Tim and the gentleman that own the Jim and Alison Lee car. I didn't want it to end. Hearing the stories of Jungle Jim and the personal input from Pam and Randy were just incredible! They are both amazed how huge the whole JJ thing has become and even had some stories of some very strange JJ fans.
Rocky Pirrone was busy helping with what seemed to be half the cars in the pits. He still took time out to talk with me and made me feel like I've known him all along.
As with all our Draglist family it's always good seeing Ohio Dave. Dave knew all about most of the cars there and pointed out which ones to keep an eye one. He was right all the time...Well, except for the firebird!
Did I mention that I got to sit between Jungle Pam and Bunny Burkett!!?
