All pro-tree for 2012?

Postby overdriv » Thu Sep 15, 2011 4:25 pm

A friend told me that NHRA is going to use a pro-tree in all classes in 2012. How could that be in the handicap classes?

BTW, I hate throttle stop racing. I think they should do away with delay boxes and auto-shift devices. Just my opinion. I'll bet this has been discussed a bit before.

I'm with ya on the throttle stops. They have killed spectator interest in the "super" classes. I don't see why they don't have them activate on the big end... :?:

If they were gonna switch, why stop half way with a "PRO" tree ?? go all the way to an "instant green" and be done with it. jmo

I think it would be great. The AHRA had a class called Top Comp Eliminator that was a quick 32 handicapped class that used a pro tree and it was great. It was also a three tenths tree and there were very few redlights.
I seriously doubt you will see it in NHRA events.

I think an instant green would result in a lot more redlights with people guessing at the tree.
