Well, it's a small world after all Wheelz'. My first caah of sorts was a 52 Plymouth (6) that had no title, we just played with it on the farm. One day my Brother Dave welded up a set of pipes for it. It had no front clip so the header was basically a set of zoomies. It was fun to drive, 'til the day I was going through a mud puddle on the road out to the back 40. When it hit dry ground on the other side, the high windin' 6 locked up. I still remember the disappointment thinking I was going to get a great hole shot (pun intended) when it hooked up, but no. Never did tear it apart to see what happened, didn't have any money to fix it Ann E. Weigh. :|

I bought and installed a Bosch "Blue Coil" for George...works great...actually works better with original rotor and points ignition than it did with the chip...I switched it back...what I've learned is that there are new ways to make a VW engine run, but they're not necessarily "better" than the way they were originally set up...just different, and in some cases, not as efficient. My hat's off to Dr. Porsche. His method still holds up...Cheers, WC1

I think mine would have been a set of dual exhausts and glass paks on my '52 Ford flathead. They were the style where you blocked off the front of the right side exhaust manifold and on the drivers side the pipe looped up, back and down to the muffler. It sure sounded a lot better after that and I'm pretty sure it added 100-200 more horsepower ! lol Or at least in my mind it did. But alas, the Pennsylvania State Troopers didn't like all that noise and stopped me. Back in those days the fine was $25 per side, but he just wrote me up for Illegal Noise which was $10. Of course I had the replace the mufflers too.

Don't know if you would call it speed equipment, but the first thing
to go on my 60 Chevy Biscayne, wedge fire, 4 speed, was a tach. Talk
about low rpm valve float. I had the 250 horse engine due to my
dad having to sign the loan at the credit union. He bought the
story about 4th gear being over drive. LOL
