8) Most know by now. But here is rnet rule. For 27.1 SFI Ribbon Nets --ONLY 7.49 and quicker have a two year date rule like seat belts. For 7.50 to 9.99 there is no expire date as long as in good shape and mounted correctly. 8)

When the net rule was first mandated-it was thought all 27.1 nets had the 2 year rule. Lot of new nets were bought by 7.50 to .999 racers assuming that.

One of our biggest issues-especially with test and tune is helmets. Especially at test and tunes.
Be aware everyone under 14 sec. needs a legal helmet at NHRA drag strips. The current code is in big white block letters on a 3" X 3/4 vinyl decal inside the helmet. Usually under the lining. The block letters and numbers should read SA or M 2005 or 2010. SA means Fire retardent. M means motorcycle. Both SA and M are legal for most classes.
The 2005 will be good till end of 2017. The 2010 will be good till 2022. you will also notice small typed digets on top of the big white ones. Those numbers are only needed for ETI. (Extended Tech Inspection) 8)

If .999 or quicker-Helmet must be full face type. I see this breeched a lot on Pass Time. And many other things  Fun show though. We love watching it. 8)

Another thing we run into , mostly at test and tunes is under age drivers. If under 18 NHRA rules mandate 16 and 17 year olds must have a waiver signed by both parents. And witnessed. Why both??? Good question when only one is needed for school sports and even to join the Armed Forces. 8) Hell at Peoria Speedway last Sat. night a 15 year old won Late Model in a $100,000 1/4 mile Late Model Dirt Car VS the best there is. He has been doing that since 8th. grade! At 13. But if he came to the strip to run a 17 sec. RV in a straight line he would need a waiver with two signitures.       8)

His quarter mile dirt track late model times are high 11s. Think about that for a while! :!: That is cooking my frineds :!: Back in 69 , when I was 28 years old and I was doing stock car racing we thought 13s were fast.  8)

But my job is an enforcer-whether I agrre with the rules or not :? 8)
