Yeee-Haaaw!!! Finaly. Congrats Erica & Connolly. One thing about being first...she will ALWAYS be the first. No one can take that away.
I had a feeling this was her week. (I had her in the PTP contest)

I was awakened at 3 O'clock this morning by a sudden impulsive thought.

I remembered reading on NHRA's site after the big celebration about Erica winning that event, that the points leads hadn't changed in any of the classes. Something about that headline went way deep down inside me.

The thought I had when I woke up was "Greg gave that race away. He didn't stand to lose any ground in the standings so he let her take it".

I came in here and turned on the computer, got on the race and studied the ETs from Round 1 of qualifying all the way through the final rounds and compared ETs between them.

She won that race fair and square. She outqualified and outran him at every juncture of the weekend and ran low ET of eliminations (6.607) in Round 2. It was a clean win. Greg didn't take a knee for her. Life is good.

I went back to bed and dreamed I was Richie Stevens. Cheers, WC1

Yup, she been consistently treeing her opponent more often than not the last while. It was just a matter of time before they found the extra horsepower for her to stay ahead.
On a side note, last Friday standing by the return lane fence Greg Anderson was the only one out of all the pro class drivers that acknowledged I was standing there. He smiled & waved, both times by. Meaningless trivia, just sayn'.

I peeked at Drag Race Central in time to see the semis... looking at what everyone was running, I said to myself, "She could win this thing!" But then I saw Greg Anderson still in and that dampened my spirits. It was great to see her take that win. bp

And, Richie Stevens proposed to her after the race and she said yes.
What a day she had.

Yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing Greg Anderson "give away" any races to Erica Enders in this lifetime-- Erica's brutal reaction time skills combined with the added horsepower that crew chief Dave Connolly is now producing for her all adds up to their team being a major threat... It's also worth noting that she put some other heavyweights on the trailer en route to her historic winner's circle appearance... I believe that a majority of the drag racing community congratulates Erica Enders on becoming the first woman to win Pro Stock at an NHRA national event... She is all woman-- Hear Erica and her Chevy Cobalt doorslammer ROAR!!... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

More much deserved hype and hoopla over Erica's historic and triumphant victory...
