Mornin'. 39.0°f with very dense fog. Visibility is about a block.

Back in January, when we went up north to pick up tile for the bathroom, I noticed the brakes on the truck making an odd noise. I bought new rotors and pads a couple days later. But, I really Really wanted to get the bathroom done, figured the pads and rotors are shot anyway, so I put off the brake job. Well, now the remodeling is done, so today is truck brakes day. No surprise they've gotten worse, a lot worse, 2.5 months later. The salt from the road has made the rear passenger side wheel orange from the metal filings. Odd that it's a rear brake, I've not replaced the front pads yet. Usually the fronts go first. When I look at the rear rotor through the wheel it looks fine. So I suspect the caliper isn't sliding on the pins like it should and is grinding away at the inside of the rotor. So, this job may require a trip to the parts store to get additional stuff. I'll know as soon as I finish this morning coffee.

Thanks Bill. Just got the rear brakes installed on the P.U. The rotor was about 1/2 shaved off on the back side, front still had a fair amount of pad left. The prong on one of the clips the pad slides on was bent like a pretzel. Had to be a factory deal, as there's no way to bent it like that once it's installed. I got 70k out of them, even with the binding pad, so it isn't too big a deal.
Plan to spend the afternoon cleaning the garage and maybe the shop if I have enough in the tank to last that long. I parked the P.U. in the back, cuz' when I leave it on the front drive, it always seems to draw people. That was a goota' thing when I wanted to stay busy. Now I look for ways to not be busy. But as of yet I haven't found the the right procedure.

Ha ha. That's a good sign of great word of mouth advertising! Got to hide your profession to get some free time!

Glad to hear the brakes were not too bad (in an expert's hands).

We went to the tax prep place yesterday and found that we owe another $6800, thanks to the changes to the law passed last year.

We decided to go to a nice outdoor pub to have a few glasses of wine and something to eat to commiserate.

We then took a nice drive through the Maryland countryside, down past Dr. Mudd's house and in the areas. It is so rurals just minutes from our house.

Em came over last night and she and Jason got Chinese delivered. We binge watched some Netflix after that.

Today we are all sort of lazing around. Hope everyone has a great weekend and another good week. bp
