Got all but a couple signs installed. Finish up in the morning, as it's so foggy light drizzle everything is dripping wet. Still 44.6°f though.

I went to The Yard yesterday!!!
36/42 for the day with rain and overcast skies all day. I went with my buddy for lunch and we headed out to The Yard. A local Italian eatery right next to the Dennison railroad yards where many a soldier in WWII passed by on route to training or back East to be shipped overseas. I got home and Sharon was doing the laundry so I stayed out of her way and later we picked up Lola from preschool. When her mom came to get her she was telling us about a home she went to look at (she is the loan officer at a local bank) that was under construction for a mere $200K. She told us most new homes cost between 2 and 3 hundred thousand dollars in today's market. Looks like I'm not getting one of those for Christmas! After they went home we went for groceries for the holiday and stopped for a sandwich. Got home about 9:00 which is late for us old folk.

Hi, everyone! It was 65 degrees here today but I could not go out and enjoy as I was hurriedly finishing up work before the potential (probable?) government shutdown tonight. I will be unable by law to open my email or computer after midnight, so maybe I'll actually get a vacation instead of checking in every other day.

Hope you all have a great Christmas. I'll be checking HERE to say howdy! bp

Happy B'Day Em!

Cheryl & I played hooky from our regular Saturday duties and went shopping for tile for the master bath. That room took a hit during the tornado, and we just cleaned it up and got it functioning at the time. I bought a new shower valve for the guest bath off Amazon when we got home, so we'll have a back up unit while the master bath is out of service. We found tile we like, so now we have to do some measuring to see what the wallet deflation will be. We have a new shower door and shower plumbing hardware that's been in storage upstairs for a couple years now, so we have a running start on it. The bathroom project seems to always get pushed down the priority list. So this winter we have "good intensions" of getting it done. We'll see how it goes.
When we got home, there was a letter from SS in the mailbox, confirming the start date and amount of the checks starting in March. That was cool. 8)

Hey, Em is back from Colorado to do some shopping and to have dinner! She works tomorrow, but will be back tomorrow night and through Christmas Day! Shopping is largely done and ready to chill into the holidays. Have a great Christmas, everyone! bp

Evening. I got to looking at the master bathroom this afternoon and that led to searching for the laser distance meter. That led to measuring the room and drawing a diagram on the puter'. That led to making a materials list for porcelain tile. That led to perusing Amazon. That led to buying a few items for the bathroom.   I'm thinkin' if I buy some stuff, I'll feel guilty just letting it set around and will be motivated to get the project under way. We'll see if the plan works. :?:
