Mornin'. 83.8°f headed for the mid to upper 90's today. Heat advisory in effect, so other than running down to Gardner to letter an ambulance (inside) I plan to stay by the A/C today.

Went outside this afternoon and shot the asphalt grinds driveway with the thermo gun and it was 143.2°f, Jeff's charcoal gray car was 151.5°f. concrete driveway was 134.6°F thermometer in the lid of the grill outback in the sun is roughly 180°f, hard to tell exactly as it's marked off in 25°f increments. Thermometer reading (sensor mounted in the shade) is 101.7°f. To me anything over 90°f is hot, so I can safely say it's hot out.

This doesn't happen everyday, so I went out and documented the toasty temps. Imagine my surprise when I noticed some of the temps are still climbing. Concrete driveway dropped to the high 120's, so maybe it is cooling off a little??? House thermometer went up to 103.2°f for a few minutes, but now is down to 100.8°f, must have caught a breeze.

Now that's a little toasty fer sure.
The temps got in the mid 90's today and it was brutal out there. Yesterday Sharon and I went to find pill containers for our up coming trip, stopped at the Carpenter's Cafe for lunch and then stopped to get some cup holders for our back porch swing that we have been going to buy for like 6 years!!! Yesterday and this morning we tried out the front porch chairs for having coffee and an egg sandwich before starting the day and it worked well but the chairs are very uncomfortable so we will find new ones. Today we went out early, before the heat set in, and mowed the yard, trimmed our property and the lady across the street, attached the new cup holders for the back porch swing, trimmed the hedge next to the driveway and had several breaks for water before calling it a day around noon as it was almost 90 by then. Grabbed a bite for lunch and held the couch down for an hour before getting cleaned up and then we ordered pizza for supper. Tomorrow it will be church and then we are going with our families out for our 4th of July party at an air conditioned restaurant because we cancelled the outdoor party due to the heat index that will be in the 100+ category. All of us are over 60 and Sharon's mom is 84 so we didn't want to take a chance of heat related problems. :D :D :D

Good day hung around the hospital all day. I’m so tired. Slept on and off. Several visitors today. I’m so thankful to have so many good friends

Gorilla, I gotcha covered with the pill holders. I'll bring them to PA.
And slow down, you accomplish more by noon than I do in a week !!

Boyd sleep is a good thing. You just concentrate on getting well sir. If naps help then so be it. Listen to DRs, & mind Susan.

Went to church this morning, then out to lunch with a group of people, then a few of us went to Sue's (one of the group) for ice scream. Got home and I couldn't hardly stay awake. Took a nap and when I woke up the temps had dropped to the mid 70's and it's starting to sprinkle. aahhhhhhh what a relief it is.

Morning folkz. Gary I hope that cool down comes this way but it isn't looking to promising!!!
Wow, it was 78 degrees when I got up with Sharon at 5:00 so this one should be a sweltering mess by noon. They are calling for spotty rain later today so I hope that cools things down a bit. Yesterday we went to church and afterwards we went to the restaurant to have our 4th of July party and the AC at the restaurant was almost dead. They had an AC failure and the company had to put an undersized motor on for a temporary fix so it was not doing well in the 94 degree heat with all those people inside heating things up. We got home and watched the last half of the NASCAR race then headed outside to put Sharon's flags up for the 4th celebration. We also staked some lilies that were over growing their area and watered the garden before returning to the coolness of the house. I can't even imagine what those people down south are going through with no electricity and this horrible heat. I was going to wash the car at the house this morning but with this heat I will let the car wash do it. :D :D :D
