Mornin'. 36.7°f. They say we may get snow in the next few days.

Been there done that........

I'm toying with the idea of mowing the lawn one more time, as we apparently had some growing weather while we were gone. It's long enough to collect leaves from the neighbors. I know they're from the neighbors, because we don't have any live trees, other than the little 2' tall oak Ethan gave us. Might have to cover the whole house fan and winterize A/C stuff, give the fireplace a cleaning & haul in firewood. Our TV antenna changed direction while we were gone, had a bit of a wind storm. So I need to get that back to the right direction manually, as the rotor has given up. I have a few sign jobs I need to get done first though.
I have some stuff coming by this weekend from Amazon, to decorate the upstairs window shelf in the foyer. When we did the wall frame & panel job, I wired an outlet to the shelf, w/switch down by the front door, so we can light up whatever we put up there. We have some Christmas carolers we've had for decades that I plan to make a set for. This is a project I had in mind many many years ago and just sort of forgot about. Maybe, just maybe I'll get it done this year.

Got the lawn mowed. Fixed the latch on the fireplace door, winterized the A/C and covered the whole house fan. Did some proof work for some upcoming sign stuff. That's about it, so far.

Morning folkz. 29/47 for today and it got up to 50 yesterday. Sharon and I moved three truck loads of stuff from mom's house and I transplanted some rhubarb for my brother in law. The hauling involved carrying stuff from mom's basement and putting it in our basement so the old legs were screaming but we got it done. Sharon spent all evening going through jewelry and looking at old photo albums. Today I am going to my buddy's house and we will do lunch before he goes to his lung doctor to see the results of his tests. Sharon and I talked to him about getting a lung transplant and he told me he has to be at only 18% capacity before he can get on the donor list, he is at 40% as of his last visit but we will see what today's readings are when he comes home. It is hard to watch him deteriorate and not be able to do something. Much like Boyd. I too have been eyeing the lawn and may have to mow but hoping the snow will cover it so I don't have to look at it.

Snow here to but it was very light and the rain killed it soon after. It got up to 44 today but the rain and wind made it feel colder. Sharon and I went for breakfast then did some shopping for Christmas gifts and decorations. It took us most of four hours and when we got home we both chilled for an hour before getting supper ready and watching several episodes of The Big Bang Theory. Yesterday we had Lori and Lola over for dinner and a movie. Lori brought the Blue Ray disc that was the story of P T Barnum's rise to fame in the circus entertainment industry. It was a musical but it was fairly good and I enjoyed watching Lola curl up with Sharon and her mom on the couch. Our house is never so alive as when they are here. Sharon pulled a good one on me a few days ago. We have been trying to finish up our leftovers and she asked me what we were having for supper. We had on lone piece of fish left and I told her we could have fish. She looked at me and said, "Unless you turn into Jesus that fish will not feed both of us?" We both laughed like a couple of nuts!!!! :D :D :D

Got the deck built for the foyer winder'. I made it in 3 pcs. so it can be unscrewed and put away in 3 sections. I'm thinkin' it won't get any lighter as the years go by. By the first of the week, the mini Christmas trees should be here, to be used as a backdrop for the carolers. Should have it done in plenty of time for Christmas decorating. We plan to do that the Saturday right after Thanksgiving. We plan that every year, then we get behind and end up putting up just the tree and calling it goota'. We hope to break that cycle this year.
