Next stop was Crazy Horse. We were there last in 1993. I remember, because we had just bought a 1993 Chevy P.U. and the vacation was it's maiden voyage. Jeff & Jenni were about waist high. I have a photo of the truck with Crazy Horse in the background, somewhere, but It must be buried in a drawer somewhere. A guide told us they've been working on the finger for the last coupe years. Just for judging the size, that's a full sized track hoe on the top near the finger. There's a 2 lane road on his arm. We didn't take the time for the bus tour, but it was still interesting the see the changes since 1993. Not so much in the sculpture, but the buildings and property has seen a lot of improvements.

Mount Rushmore is undergoing a face lift too, (no pun intended). Actually, the sculpture here also, is about the only thing that looked familiar from 1993. The theater area where we watched the light show last time is torn out. They say it will be all put back together in 24 months. They now have a huge multi level parking garage and the entrance/shops/dining is much bigger. Being upgraded to handle a larger volume of visitors.

Great shots. We were very impressed by Crazy Horse when we went, too. Kids were in their early teens then. Rushmore looking good. Glad to see they are renovating. bp

Not far down the road we came across this chainsaw Artist. He was turning out some pretty nice work.

Stayed in Rapid City next. We didn't get there until dusk, so I shot the rapids with a slow shutter speed.

Finally we went to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha MN on the Mississippi river. They have several eagles and hawks there that were rescued, fixed up, but not able to return to the wild.

Got Snow? I guess we brought it back with us.

Mornin'. We had a cold snap here, got down to 7°f at one point. Actually warmed up overnight, we're at 32°f now. Cloudy, looks like it could snow.
