Quick update. 215, but bouncing up to 220 periodically. Trying for 190 by New Years' Day. Gonna be a challenge! bp

:D Too many of those every now and then are slowing me down. Ate out like crazy with Denise's brother in town and now have to climb back down the weight slope. Been losing and gaining the same 10-12 lbs. since July 4. I will be lucky to get into the 190s at all by New Years at this point. But not stopping! bp

A concerted effort to eat sparsely to prepare for late month Thanksgiving festivities allowed me to hit 210 today.

That makes 60 lbs. this year after 70 lbs. in 2012.

Won't make it to the 190s this year, but I have hopes of hitting the mid 200s.

Thanks for following along, friends! bp

Those last few pounds are the worst to get off bp. I have been battling the last 5 lbs. for over a year. Well
not battling but I would like to lose 5 more and it is going to be really an uphill climb this year as we are going
to three Thanksgiving dinners in three days this coming weekend. I think I'm in deep do-do???????

Yeah. Gonna be a challenge for sure! We only have one to go to, but there will be plenty of goodies. I'm eating very, very low cal on Monday and Tuesday to prepare! bp

OK, I eventually hit 208 before Thanksgiving. Gained nine pounds that week, and then got back to 211 the other day. But I got a new scale and body composition monitor that has a ton of info on it that has me rethinking my weight goals. Check this out...

(Apparently, I'm a badass and didn't know it - LOL.)

Weight - 214.6
Total body fat pct - 15.6 (I'm right in the middle or normal for my age)
Total body water pct - 61.6 (normal range 50-65)
Visceral fat rating - 9 (normal range 1-12 -- cool)
Muscle mass lbs. - 172.4 (the weight of my muscles)
Physique rating - 6 (standard muscular - average body fat and higher than normal muscle mass level)
Bone mass lbs. - 8.8 (slightly higher than normal)
Daily Calorie Intake - 4255 -- my Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) times 1.78 (so my BMR is 2390)
Metabolic age - 21 (the average age associated with that metabolic rate -- check THAT out, sports fans!)

So, feeling pretty good about these numbers.

For one thing, if my body fat percentage is this low, science tells me that I can only metabolize 1004 calories per day from fat into energy. Since I usually have about a 1200-1300 calorie deficit per day on average, I can see that I now am typically eating too few calories now that I've lost so much weight).

I can see how the muscle mass, body fat percentage, and bone mass all work together. What is blowing my mind is that my muscle mass plus my bone mass equals about 180 lbs. That was the ultimate target I was aiming for by April 1, 2014, but that would mean I would have ZERO body fat in order to get to that number!

Even if I get to 190, that's only 5 percent body fat. So, am I misunderstanding these numbers or was my target weight (as indicated by a perfect BMI of 184.3) too low for my musculature?

I'm working with personal trainers to answer some of these questions... Still have 33 lbs. of fat to eradicate... bp

It is unbelievable, BP.
Be healthy. If 190 is healthy, do 190...can't go to the other extreme. What you've done is marvelous and inspiring, but it could be that 180 is too low? Good luck on finding out the specifics on that. Congrats! WC1
