ANYBODY going this weekend ?? The fireworks display alone is worth it.

Summit Motorsports Park’s Fabled Night Under Fire Fireworks
Monday 10 August, 2015
While the fireworks for Summit Motorsports Park’s first Night Under Fire were minimal, the fireworks planned for the 38th Annual Kelly Services Night Under Fire are anything but.

Cleverly choreographed to patriotic music, they’ll be sent to the sky from 23 different positions, and there will be exactly — not approximately — 16,240 shells and special-effects.

And because Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader, Jr. has a penchant for the elaborate and explosive, expect a lot of fireballs to be part of the sixteen-minute display, which costs $100,000 to produce.

For information about the event, which is Saturday, Aug. 15 and features John Force and other NHRA drivers, Bob Motz and other exhibition drivers and more, call 419-668-5555 or visit www.summitmotorsportspark.com.

Sounds great, but no, won't make it! Will be up that way this next weekend as I have to move Emily from the Blue Lake FIne Arts camp in Michigan to her new apartment in Chicago. Then zooming back to get to work for a Wednesday meeting. So crazy. Won't have time to breathe, let alone visit. bp

I haven't been to a track at all this year yet. Too much stuff going on. I plan to rectify that next month however. :D

Great plan, Gary!

From the photos I've seen on the internet, it was a huge success. Something like 52,000 people in attendance. bp

Just sent about a dozen pics for ya BP. Was a very good show as always. A very strange thing happened though, The Shockwave jet truck blasted away a 8'x30' section of the bleachbox/staging lanes!!! Never caught up to Zappy even though I walked down to where he and Zappette were sitting and waved my arms for 5 minutes! On a personal note, had a great time talking at length with Jon Asher, one of our sports legends. Great stories, great insight.

That's fantastic, Dave! I just published the photos on draglist. Looks great as always! Thanks. Cool to talk to Asher. Last time I talked at length with him was a dinner with him, Kepner, and Jeff Burk at the first USSC race at Englishtown! bp

Sorry I missed ya Dave. I really wanted to talk to you. I was sitting much farther down than I prefer, but I kept lookin and Makayla said she thought she saw you shooting on the starting line. Oh well. You going to Indy ?? If not we'll catch up at the DLN 10.

Night Under Fire was GREAT huh? The pavement tear-up was a real shocker. Kinda let down that Bader didn't have Motz burn down the sign.
