Good times! Nope, not gonna make it myself. Going to stick around the house. Need to write up the bios for the MIR Legends race. bp

Ok gang, I missed a few yrs, BUT I'm in the Hotel now. Lookin forward to Sat & Sun (if I can take the extreme heat?) Then drive home Mon. AM and watch finals on TV.

I have a lot of race friends that INDY is the only race we ALL make. So it should be a nice reunion. Plus my son & granddaughter are here.

See you folks in a few weeks, can't wait, drive safe.

First rd Sat the TF'es were bad. Either oil down or smoke fest. FC got a better handle on the heat & track. Low was 4.06 I believe.

2ND rd a different story. Because of the delays it was dark, cooler air, dryer air, cooler track. At least 5 FC's ran 3.90's with a best of 3.93 by
(who else...Beckman ). WAY TOO HOT for Zapster, (91 or 92 & muggie) it really did me in. Had to get under the bleachers for about 1 1/2 hrs.
got to see 5 or 6 friends I haven't see in a while

That's great, Zappy! I remember the Indy where there was a rain shower and afterwards it was much colder. That's when Gene Snow came out and ran like a 5.01 (right after Eddie Hill had run 4.99 earlier that year). Snow took advantage of that cooler air to kill 'em all with that run. bp

Oh baby, Sun. was another scorcher, low 90's muggy. 2 days in a row, never again. What did Clint say ?? "A MAN HAS TO KNOW HIS LIMITATIONS".
I'm not saying it was HOT, but I burned arm on my own fanny pack twice. But enough of that, the racing was also HOT. According to Reinhardt, we saw only the second or third side by side 3.90 FC runs in history. Lots of faves went out early, in case ya haven't watched the broadcast I won't spoil.

I got to meet one new person from another board I'm on, and several dear friends. Also guess who surprised me and showed up at the SUN. meeting
...........give up?? ok our own OHIO DAVE was there !!! Way cool to see him. I was glad I went this year. Now that they (NHRA) went back to point and a half, INDY is special again.

Drove home today (Mon.) 5hrs non stop, then cut 1 acre, then LL made ribs and watched finals on TV. Life is truly good !!!
