LOCAL DRAGSTRIPS

We did the continuous racing scene last weekend. On Sat. we went to the local dragstrip, Magnolia Drag Strip Inc. and then that night attended the stock car races with a 75 lap feature, at the Midvale Speedway. I have some pictures from the drag strip and it almost could be some retro pics if you just remember back in the day. Only most of the cars never looked this good if you recall. Most were somewhere between rough and outrageous. My 55 had a piece of water pipe for a rollbar and a kitchen chair bolted to the floor for a seat. You know it's a small wonder most of us are still around today. Well anyhow enjoy and if you have any old pics slap them up here.

Here's my H/SA Chevy II wagon at Raceway Park, Prince Edward Island in Sept 1977. Got a third place cheque that day(only $50 but it paid for the ferry ride home) Easiest money I ever made - the #1 qualifier redlit against me in the first round and in the second round the other guy broke on the line.

The pic below is how it looked before it became a Stock class car when it was a daily driver. The tunnel rammed LT1 under that scoop was sold to finance the 327/250 HP stocker engine buildup.
