Sig Erson, noted cam grinder passed away Monday in Florida at the age of 79. Sig opened his own shop in 1963 after working for Isky cams. May you rest in peace, and thank you for all you've done for the sport of auto racing.

My sentiments echo RH's almost exactly. We are at the age, guys, when we are going to be saying farewell to many of these venerable names that made up the fabric of our sport. Thanks to Sig for his contributions. I never ran one of his products and probably couldn't tell you a racer who did (although many, many did), but just seeing his logos in the mags was as much a part of my memories of 70s drag racing as anything else. Farewell, Sig. bp

Rest in peace, Mr. Erson, and thanks for all you did for us.
Eddie Hill had a Sig Erson roller cam in his stroker motor when he made those phenomenal 4-second runs in the Spring of 1988. Sig went down in history. God Bless and keep you. WC1

Thanks Sig
Like the Cam Father (your mentor) , you produced great stuff and mastered marketing with the best of them..

Another one is gone. R.I. P. Sig.

I'm one of those that ran/used his cams, many years ago. Won my first C/MP class with an Erson cam. Great part of our racing history has left us.
