Vic Cooke...

Postby morebetter99 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:19 pm

RIP...My friend!
A few words from "Hutch"...
Sad to tell you that we lost a fellow Nitrogeezer on Tuesday. Vic Cooke of Mentor, Ohio passed away in hospice care. Vic was a terrific photographer who captured the nostalgia events and reunions for us "at the wall" at Bakersfield, Bowling Green, Norwalk, Indy, and Thompson. Some of his best work was for George Crittenden's Nitrogeezer calendars and photo galleries. If you were at the 2011 NHRR, you saw Vic in "Croshier, Baltes & Lavato" in the cacklefest. It was a bucket list moment for Vic, and a memory that none of us present will ever forget.

Vic was a great guy that I met at the NHRR in 2003. He and many of the other Standard 1320/Drag Racers Inc. guys treated my son Jason like one of the gang. I have some great photos of them all together (that I'm sad to say are no longer displaying on the site... gotta fix that). Vic went on to take some great shots at NHRA and IHRA national events for us. You can find his great work gracing the pages of draglist... Farewell, Vic, and save us a place up there. bp
