101 Drag racing Q&A's.

Postby pro70z28 » Wed Feb 07, 2007 7:41 pm

Mike's question about throttle blades got me thinkin' There's problee' questions we (most of us) all have about drag racin'. Stuff that most drag racers take for granted. Some may not have any idea what a term means or why things are done the way they are or ......
Some terms are from waaay back in the old days. Like horsepower for instance. No real horses invloved anymore. (Sept' maybe for the Ford Mustang guys) It was just a way to visuallize how much power an internal combustion engine had, compared to the nag in the barn.

Here's 1..... Why is vacuum measured in inches and boost measured in lbs.?

Actually a pretty fair question, Gary!!....One I have no clue as to what the answer may be.....but then again.....I still can't figger out why we park in a driveway and drive on a parkway.....or why when it is delivered via a truck, it has been shipped....but if it came by ship...it is considered freight
