Saw Ron Capps Qualify #1 @ 66 yesterday first lap. Ended up third on the last Q. Lap of the day.

I've been rooting for Capps for a long time. In my opinion he's the best driver in the NHRA. The NAPA FC has definitely picked up the pace...good luck to him this season. It's great that he ran Eddyville last week. He got to hang out with Rapid! Man...the Sin City Vette is an awesome machine! You guys built one heck of a beautiful hot rod, Rapid! WC1

The team is coming to KC this weekend. Should be a great show and Sin City's first race win. I'm also doing a warm up for DLN's by feeding all the funny car teams BBQ..lol

We just completed our 2nd DRO race. I told Rapid on the way home from Cedar Falls, he has to do a "What I did this weekend" this week. Nothing like putting the pressure on eh Rapid?

Here are a few notes of things I remember from the weekend. No particular order of course.

7-cars made the trip to Cedar Falls DRO race including Barry's new Camaro that is absolutely stunning in quality up close. Barry was there to make a couple of license runs only.

Paul was the class of the field running a bunch of 5's.

John Hale spent the week with me in DSM after the KCIR race. Had a great time, kept him and Guy Tipton mostly out of trouble. ;D

I think we qualified 3rd. As I remember it Doc ran Anthony, John Hale ran us, Paul had a bye run. We got put back in. So the semis were Anthony vs us and Paul vs John.

Anthony had me covered, then had trouble. I spun the tires, but got the win. Paul beat John.

In the finals our car went out about 300 feet and spun hard. It wouldn't have mattered as Paul was on his way to another 5.80.

It was great to hang around and race with a bunch of friends.

Norm was in heaven by having a successful weekend in front of the home crowd.

Jerry Newman continues to impress and lend his experience to us. It is good to be one of Jerry's kids. :D

I also am lucky enough to be able to get Mikee's attention as he is familiar with all the parts I run on the car since I bought them from him. 8)

The short version is our car keeps putting out 3-5-7 at the step. After KCIR I changed head gaskets and nozzled it. We got it to pick up #7. But on each run #3 and #7 were going out at the hit. I kept after it and it is improving. In the final it appeared they hung around and played along, as the car spun hard down track.

It was a great weekend. I had plenty of additional help this weekend and I couldn't be more proud of my guys on how they turned the car around.

If you're sneaking up on the tune up, not hurting parts
and going some rounds, all is good!
Great job!

Gary one weird trip!! 4 miles from the walcott exit towin in the rain our dually got hit by lightning!!! I didnt know what happened at first the flash was so bright i just went blind for a second and the pop i thought i blew a steer tire. Once we determined it was lightning i realized we were slowing down  The strike as we now know blew the ecu and all the truck would do was idle.We tried everything and finally limped at 3 1/2 mph the last 4 miles to the truck stop.I was able to get ahold of your neighbor Tom and he headed over got my keys from my neighbor and headed out in MY pu to retrive the stranded party.SERIOUSLY?? Just my luck!
