Thanks for the comments everyone. 8)

BP, didn't the Pro Stock guys used to put mirrors or something up on the corner of the dash to see around the hood scoops? It seems like I remember something like that from along while back.

I learned the hard way to NOT tilt your head forward to see the tree. The funnycar I drove had a API "Big Brute"trans in it with a transbrake. As soon as I staged the tree activated.I let go of the button. My head slammed back into the cage padding.I hurt for days :(

[quote="wheelzman"]Thanks for the report Rapid. You need one of those old view finders like they
used on the 54 Chevys with sunvisors to see the traffic light. :D

Used one on my HHR to see traffic lights Wheelz, worked real well.

Wow, tough lesson, Boyd!

Randy, I know for sure that Ronnie Sox had a mirror in his Pro Mod car... he showed it to us.

I have heard that others, did, too, but can't remember who... sounds like the next thing you need!

Bunny has the same problem in her low riding Corvette... bp

Yeah...there were a number of Pro Mod guys...especially Dixie Pro Stock folks who had a mirror mounted off of their funny car cage to facilitate seeing the tree from the left lane....there are times when that tree can be rather difficult to see  ........Rapid....it might not be a bad idea to mount a small mirror (or really shiny piece of foil type something)there near the lower windshield...kinda horizontal to you in the seat....so you can gaze towards the bottom of the windshield to see the staging bulbs...perhaps one on either side(?) Worth considering, in my humble opinion

Eddyville went pretty well, at least the first run did. We were low for the first round. Tuned it up more for the second round but the rear end didn't want to play well. Rear end broke just about 60' but the car took off like it never had before. Took out the pinion bearing which took out the crankshaft, and a set of rods as the motor freewheeled. We'll be ready to rock the World Series, parts are in and being assembled. Randy's just a bit busy rebuilding things to get ready. I'm headed to IA today to help out and get some other items fixed on the trailer.

Yay and boo all at the same time. Good luck getting it back together. You know all these events are just tune-ups for your big race in front of your fellow drag listers in Cordova, where you will set low ET, top speed, and will sweep the event! bp

I like the way you think BP. We will definitely do our best. We will be testing to make sure at Byron Aug 5.
