It's amazing how things break isn't it? When I broke mine this year, all the visible damage was on #3/4 rod journal, but the #4 main journal was cracked.
I agree Perry, these engines can do the strangest things. I'm still amazed we didn't hurt the heads, at least that's one thing we don't have to fix. :?

Good News

Postby Bob Kraemer » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:00 pm

Thanks Doc & Lippy

I have some good news to report, called Doug @ Crankshaft Specialites in Tn., said he can fix the crank  :?
Rods & pistons will be ordered on Monday and the crank sent out to be fixed also on Monday.
We just may have this deal back together & running yet this year. :? 8)

Thanks everybody 8)
The rods will be here Friday or no later than Monday, the crank will be back by Friday, we are going to finish welding the block tomorrow night, then do what ever machine work needs to be done to it over the weekend.
Soooo... if the weather stays nice around here for the next month or so, we just may get to finish what we started out to do and get Steve's license upgraded.
If the weather doesn't stay nice we are going to drag the car to where the weather is nice so we can finish what we started out to do.
I just hope business commitments don't interfer with my plans, if they do
I'll have to figure out a plan B
Either way come hell or high water this car is going back down the track yet this year!!!!
