Thanks guys I appreciate it.
Lets see, where to start
First it would be much easier to start with what has gone right, it would require less typing on my part. The car looks nice, the rods are still in it "they should be, we haven't made a pass yet" it tows good, has good oil pressure, did I mention the car looks nice ???? just kidding.
The car was basically all together when I got involved in the project.
First problem the engine would not start with a 16 volt battery, imagine that. Switched to 24 volt batteries got the car started but fried the solenoid every time. 24 volts to the starter & 12 volts to the solenoid still fried it which is the way we had it wired the first time. Come to find out there is a small thin sheet metal jumper on it. To even see the jumper I had to put my glasses on and shine a light on it to see it. So if you think you are putting 24 volts the the starter & 12 volts to the solenoid you are still putting 24 volts to the solenoid also. Removed the jumper problem solved. Thank you ?SR starters for providing proper wiring instructions with your starters.
Had some clearance issues but those were minor compared to the solenoid issues.
