Been helping a friend get his car sorted out and ready to race.
Specs: 280 WB, 526 Hemi, 14/71, Dart heads, MSD 44, 3-speed Lenco behind a Bruno Drive
Yes I know it has a Ford decal on it. Before Steve decided to go quick 16 racing he ran the car in brackets with a Ford engine in it. Now it has a real engine in it. A Hemi!!!! 8)
I'll post some of our trials, tribulations and the many gremlins we have had in getting the car to this point.

Thanks guys I appreciate it.
Lets see, where to start :? First it would be much easier to start with what has gone right, it would require less typing on my part. The car looks nice, the rods are still in it "they should be, we haven't made a pass yet" it tows good, has good oil pressure, did I mention the car looks nice ???? just kidding.

The car was basically all together when I got involved in the project.
First problem the engine would not start with a 16 volt battery, imagine that. Switched to 24 volt batteries got the car started but fried the solenoid every time. 24 volts to the starter & 12 volts to the solenoid still fried it which is the way we had it wired the first time. Come to find out there is a small thin sheet metal jumper on it. To even see the jumper I had to put my glasses on and shine a light on it to see it. So if you think you are putting 24 volts the the starter & 12 volts to the solenoid you are still putting 24 volts to the solenoid also. Removed the jumper problem solved. Thank you ?SR starters for providing proper wiring instructions with your starters. Had some clearance issues but those were minor compared to the solenoid issues.

So stay tuned to your favorite Bat channel for our next installment of "Days of our Race Car Lives" or "What did I do wrong to deserve this"

Bob, Are there a lot of tracks in your area that have quick 16 programs that allow open wheel cars?
Most of the tracks around here only allow doorslammers in the Q 16 programs.
