Lounge chairs are goota'. :D :D

Jeff's clutch went out on the way home last night. :oops: (Just the hydraulic linkage, not the pressure plate/disc). Sure is buried deep. :oops: So, Jeff is thrashin' today & getting a new deal installed. He has an appointment with the dyno next week to install bigger injectors & give it the tune up it should have had when the engine was built. His only shot at a test & tune before Eddyville is a week from tomorrow, so he's got today & next Tuesday (his only days off) to get it back together. Shouldn't be a problem if it all goes smooth. At least it happened now & not at the track. 8)

Hey DOC, you have any ideas about the hydraulic clutch Assm. Jeff replaced both master & slave cyl. There's no bleeders on either so I assume it's a self bleeder deal since the master cylinder is above the slave cylinder. When Jeff hits the pedal it feels like the slave cylinder is moving (but can't really tell for sure because it's all enclosed. Sure hope there isn't a problem with the throw-out bearing (they call it a release bearing) or the fork or pressure plate, or ??? Ann E. Ideas ???

I just took a look at it & my guess (never messed with hyd. before but) looks like Jeff should have bench bled the master cylinder before he installed it because the back end of the cylinder is uphill and looks like it would trap air in the bore. So, he's going to pull it back out & bench bleed the deal. stay tuned.

Gary unless you can turn the car upside down :lol: you need to pump the fresh fluid UP from the bottom... to get all the air out.. there are a few tools(mightyvac comes to mind) or pressure bleed the system iffin' you can borrow a cap to fit the clutch master cylider.. i normally just gravity bleed the heaps.... takes a while and makes a mess.... maybe rapid or greg can add something as i hink the caliper bleeds are higher than the master cylinder is or the f/c... the whole process is 180 from what you think should bee done......

Thanks DOC. We are bench bleeding it and are making some progress. Bleed awhile let it set awhile Bleed, .... We've gotten a fair amount of air out of it and it feels firmer. I have to take off for a meeting tonight, but I think Jeff is going to reinstall it and give it another try.

AGAIN, bench bleeding the master cylinder is a goota STEP.... BUT you wil still have air in the slave cylinder and mess with your mind..... never have done a late model camaro so i'm just guessing... done few on s-10s over the years but there all had a bleeder... might bee worth reading some tech online..... just sayin'

Jeff got on a camaro board and the reply he got was we are doing it right, just takes a LOT of pumping. :oops: Jeff reinstalled it and it still doesn't work. Bad news is the master cylinder mounts on a pretty good slant with the bore being "up" & the output fitting "down" so it's problee' not going to bleed too goota' that way. :oops: Sure would be nice if there was a bleeder valve on this unit. :roll:
