LETS JUST SAY IM NOT HAPPY...
I WILL ABVIOUSLY NEED TO TAKE MY MOTOR TO
SOMEONE ELSE`S DYNO TO GET A MORE ACCURATE READING.
WE MADE 7 PULLS..
FIRST PULL SHOWED..36timing ,88 jet, 802HP @6800rpm egt1090 avg.
then he tells me he didnt factor in barometric psi to the computer.
2nd pull.....36 deg. 88 jet, 726hp @ 6800rpm egt 1140 avg.
3 pull w/ a 94 jet, 726, 4 , pull, 728......
5th pull..38 degrees, 88 jet, 729 @6800rpm, egt 1150
6th pull, 38 degrees, 84 jet, 740 hp@6800, egt 1210,.........
i was told that if, this motor made 750 on this dyno it would
be 900 on another, why...i dont know,..well he says because
the inercia setting is conservative on his dyno, says you need to add 10 % for that loss and another 2% for something else.
geez im confused now...so 740hp x 12 % =828 hp,
also let me
say the weather was awfull barometer 29.7 watergrains maxed,
temperiture 58 degrees, unknown altitude or corrected.

my motor obviously likes more fuel and 38 degrees timming, and
im sure with better air it would have picked up some too.
so as of right now im going to get it dynod at another place
to get a accurate HP rating. 750 hp my ass

CAN ANYBODY ELABORATE JUST WHAT THIS GUT IS TALKING ABOUT
AND IF IT HOLDS ANY TRUTH....???????? THANKS VIC

Vic, sorry to hear you got the run around on the dyno. i know you have been waiting forever to get to pull it (and i have been waiting forever to see the results :D ). when we broke into the 8's with our car like i said it figured up to 766 rw hp. that is with 36* timing and 88's for jets. now the old man says it's still rich b/c it was blubbering in the burnout box.

if i read the results right, and i know he didn't factor in the bp on the first run, it made 808 with the 88's and 36* timing.

what plugs are you using? if autolights, the sidewire will discolor when you are close on and timing....it's supposed to turn green!

With our motor we could never really get a handle on the jetting or timing since it is a 2 cycle. our egt is usually 1320 or so, but i don't nessacarly believe egts. I'm gonna try and get the old man to get off some cash and get an o2 sensor....

i will be waiting to see what she makes on another dyno! still,at 750 that is 1.49 hp per cube...not too shabby! don't get discouraged , I'm sure you will get it figured out!

Corey

THANKS BUFF,
YOU RUNNING GAS OR ALKY ????
I AM RUNNING NGK PLUGS, WITH 36 DEGREES
THE BURN ON THE SIDE WIRE STRAP WAS JUST AT THE
BEGINING OF THE CURVE.. I KNEW 2 MORE DEGREES WOULD
BE PERFECT SO ,..38 DEGREES DISCOLORATION (BURN) IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CURVE OF THE WIRE STRAP.
MY MOTOR PICK S UP WITH MORE FUEL, RAN IT LEAN AND RICH
TO GET SOM VARIATIONS ON THE CADIUM AND THE EGT`S.
I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY HE SAYS HIS DYNO IS
UNDERATED FOR HORSEPOWER.
IM SURE I HAVE A HONEST AND SOLID 800 HP ALL OF THE
NUMBER CRUNCHING AND CONFIGURATIONS WHERE SET TO
BUILD 900 HP AND I HAVE COMPARED MY BUILD TO EXACT
OTHERS OF THE SAME CUBE AND CAM ETC..THAT CAME UP
AROUND 900 HP.......GET IT IN THE CAR AND RUN IT !!!!!!!!!!
THATS THE TRUE ANSWER WHETHER OR NOT THE CAR IS GOING
TO HAUL ASS.......HE SAYS 8.80-90, WELL I DIDNT NOT SPEND
$11,341 DOLLARS TO RUN 8.80 LET ALONE 8.70.
WE WILL SEE......... :x

YEA, I GUESS IM JUST USE TO BEING AROUND 3,000 AND 8,000
PLUS HP, BUT IF ITS UNDER 1,000 HP EVERY PENNY
SPENT IS CRITICAL, ESPECIALLY OUT OF MY POCKET BOOK.
IM OK, HONESTLY...not HONETLY AS IN hone it litely.

OK HERES THE SKIVY. JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE
WITH THE DYNO OWNER HIMSELF AND HE LOOKED AT
ALL THE PULLS AND FACTORED IN THE PERCENTAGES AND
CALCULATED AND SAYS THIS IS WHAT YOUR MOTOR MAKES
AND , HE ALSO SAID YOU CAN TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DYNO
AND IT MIGHT VARY 2HP AND 8 FT LBS ON ANOTHER.
SO WITH THAT SAID HERE IS WHAT HE GAVE ME.

DYNO ....505CI
828HP@6800 RPM
678 FTLBS @ 5400 RPM

Something don't sound right about that. Seems like you got shortchanged by a hundred hosses. Just from reading about the engine, I was thinking it oughta come in at around between 950 and a thousand hp. I'm not a crew chief, but from seeing what you have in it, parts and money, well, that don't quite add up... WC1
