Hey would anybody else be interested in touring the Bureau of Engraving in DC? Last fall when Cheryl & I went to CO we toured the Denver MInt, it was pretty interesting. The tour was free, but we had to register online for passes (they are limited so earlier the better). I waited until about 3 months before the trip & an 8am tour time is all that was left. We ended up staying at a bed & breakfast just a few blocks away so we could get there on time.
I haven't checked into the Bureau of Engraving but my guess is the process is about the same.

be first in line early in the morning.


Oh, looking further, maybe September would be easier (slower time) to take a tour. Looks like we could still do a group reservation though if we wanted (& had 10+ people wanting to go). Then we wouldn't have to run the risk of being there on a busy day.

Pro, I don't know if you'll be able to get 10 or more....but I'll start it. Linda & I would like to go on the free tour. But I'm not wanting to get up at
5AM to go ride a METRO to stand in line at 6:30 for a ticket booth that opens at 8 for "maybe tickets".

Non-Peak Season: September – February
No tickets required, space is given on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours run every 15 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., with advance reservations held for large groups between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The Visitor Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (door closes at 3:00 p.m.).
