Congrats, Gary! We had such a nice visit with your family. Great pic. Jer and Cheryl were terrific hosts as usual on Saturday night. I had them penciled in to spend the night there in Portage, Indiana, for weeks. There was only one problem -- I neglected to call and ask if that was OK with Jer and Cheryl!!! Combination of being an insensive jerk and being too busy at work to think... anyway, I called them at about 11am that morning and we headed west with the best hopes. Worst case, they would be at a concert or something and we'd just grab a good local hotel, dinner, and pool. Jerry didn't get my cell phone voice message until 4pm because he was out cutting his lawn. Cheryl emailed us and said WHERE YOU AT? I got that on my Crackberry about an hour out of Portage and called her back. We were on! Bottom line, we spent a terrific evening. Went and got two REAL CHICAGO STYLE pizzas that were so big, we still have half of it packed in the cooler. A great night of conversation, followed by a nice refreshing monirng with a MASSIVE breakfast that Cheryl whipped up. Two hours later, we were still stuffed, but of course, that didn't stop Jason (the bottomless pit) and I from mooching a piece of pizza from Gary and Cheryl!
ROCKETED across Illinois and Iowa and got to Omaha at about 9:30 last night. Had a nice half hour of chat with Denise's sister Dynell and her husband Trevor, then crashed from exhaustion. Jason said something about my reminding him of the granddad on the Rugrats cartoons. Yep, BP was DONE for the day.... and I kept falling asleep in the chair. A hard sleep later and then woke to the melodious tones of my three little neices (4, 2, and 6 months...) You get my drift! Today, it's across the great state of Nebraska and then on to Sterling, Colorado -- Denise's parents Don and Delma's house and the western Draglist offices. As Gary says, the Draglist World Tour 2007 is ON! bp
