The WS is the same age as Norm Wellman & myself. 59th annual this year. I could be wrong but I think that beats Pomona by 1 year?

This year (2012) Pomona will be 52nd
US Nationals will be 58th

Cordova WSOD is 59th. – I may be mistaken, but I believe the World Series is the longest continuously held dragracing event in the country. I can't wait till they get their 2012 schedule up, I'm dying to see WHO all, and WHAT all, they will have at the W S this year.

Yup, your right Zap. I couldn't remember which one was right on the heals of the WS, I new it was just a year difference. BTW: I am still 58 for well over a month yet.

Like BP says YES. We all talked it over last year and 100% in favor. Lots of good points:

1)TWO nites of racing - big shows instead of just local bracket cars
2) full 1/4 mi. track
3) nite racing should be cooler, much more comfortable
4)Be able to meet new D'LISTERS, Rapid & Animal Jim R usually booked in + Purple66 was there last year + Bret announces
5) closer for all except Iowa Al, and Rock, but they both said they would be there
6)Easy for you to get "non-stop" to Chicago Boyd. (HINT) ***Don't forget ya got TWO airports MIDWAY and O'HARE to choose from***
7) TWO malls for the gals to explore (1 each day) one has their favorite "CATO'S"
The quad cities to sightsee - for us that go early. (we pretty much covered E-Ville and Oskaloosa)
9) It's the end of Aug. so one more month to save up

...................and driving from Chicago to Cordova is all "west" driving.

It sounds great!!! Like the 2 day big event deal and getting to meet more members at one time! Cool! If my life and income get better, you can count us in!!!

Sat.Aug. 25 PRO FINALE - show at 7PM

They didn't list "WHO" or "WHAT" is gonna be there yet, but I'm sure it'll be great.
