Great photos Jer!!

Man do WC and Pro70 look at home in the old dragster or what? Man it was a fun weekend! I loved every second of it!! 8)

There were a couple of guys in golf carts who stopped by to chat and say how the track wasn't there and to be careful. I said we may surprise you! I am thinking we did!

Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while!

Billy Mac, I sure am sorry to here about all your troubles. But, I am laughing already at the tales that will come as a result!! :D

I'm sure this piece of drag racin' history has been pulled or pushed to the staging lanes more times I than I could imagine.
These are all fantastic posts that are taking me right back there! I will add mine soon, but I wanted to comment on Gary's assumption that Norb's rail had been towed many times. I thought so, too. But Norb told me that this was the FIRST time that his rail had been towed anywhere! It's only been rolled out of the trailer a few feet for static fire ups (it was only completed a few months ago). Norb allowed us to tow his baby for the first time ever. I was a little nervous, as the golf cart that the track generously loaned us didn't offer much on the first half of the pedal depression, but then gave a LOT after you got the pedal halfway down. That made for a few jerks of the rail's front bar, which made me cringe. But we eventually got the pull evened out and got 'er up there safely with Cat doing the steering (and applying the brake as necessary). Just another special first for our weekend. bp

Sorry to hear about Billy's troubles getting back. I rode Greyhound to a Classic Thunder event in SC a few years ago and I have to say I was less than impressed with the customer service. It was our best shot at getting Billy and Cat to the event this year, but hopefully, we'll be able to engineer another solution for 2007! bp

I questioned myself as to whether I should have "ridden" the brake handle during those pulls to keep the car from lurching forward and falling back, but I didn't want to hurt the brakes...I just let the golf cart do the work and I only pulled the brake when I was coasting too close to the cart...heck, with some reps, we could pull that thing through a parade! Jason did an excellent job of cackling the car with Norb...when Norb'd slam that throttle linkage, it sent out shock-waves and gave off a huge plume of power-air that you could see...what an awesome addition to that event, man. Great call on getting Norb and Bonnie out there, BP. Hope the trip is going great, and we look forward to your posts! Cheers, WC1

As for the bus ride, Thank you, BP. The bus is what it is. It ain't gonna change into no magic carpet ride, is it...I expected it to be a bus ride, and it fully lived up to my expectations. It's the least expensive form of transit other than hitch-hiking. It got me there and back, which was what you paid them to do, and they did it. For that I am grateful. I made the most of it, and I met some friendly and interesting people and had a few experiences that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. What needed to be forgotten about the bus trip is forgotten because it don't really factor into the mix as far as I'm concerned. It's just stuff that comes along with the type of environment I was immersed in, and like I said, I expected the bad along with the good. It definitely sounds like Billy got hung out both ways, and I sure am sorry he had enlongated hassles. Hurry home, Billy. Sorry that happened to you, man. WC1
