The much awaited video clip from the starting line. Video by Margie Casella. This clip started out at 11.1mb so I had to compress it down a bit, it's still close to 7mb, and some of the quality went away, but you can still see and hear the WINNER! The only problem that was encountered was she missed Lippy's burnout.

It's the Zapruder Film of the Draglist Nats...taken from the grassy knoll off to the side of the track...there is a crucial 30-second gap during which it is rumored that someone switched tree activation devices upstairs...but you can see the starter twitching when he threw the switch. Cat is seen running toward the guardrail where a puff of smoke came from...turned out to be Billy having a cig break, though. There's no explaining it. It just happened, and it was great. Cheers, WC1

Well, I sure had my fat butt in the wrong place for Margie. All you can see as the two cars go down the track is my bald spot.
