It's only 4 hours away but I had no idea it was happening until this past week.

I am extremely busy at work this year and I'm likely to miss most events.

I'm still planning on the DLNs of course, but otherwise, I will be locked in DC, trying to do myself what my former seven person staff did.

We will still have Monday nights! bp

Just put in for vacation today. Off from August 19 to Labor Day. That puts the DLNs right in the middle! Had Warren Johnson on the show Monday night and he confirmed that he will be at Cordova that weekend match racing with Bill Neri. WJ said it would be the first time he'd ever been to Cordova... bp

For those of us not able to make it here is a little good news...

BANGSHIFT.COM WILL LIVE STREAM WORLD SERIES
Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova,IL., announced today that one of the premiere motorsports e-zines, BANGSHIFT.COM, will live stream the 60th O’Rielly Auto Parts World Series of Dragracing (August 23-25, 2013) from Cordova Dragway Park.

“The World Series, the oldest, continuous drag race in the world has for 59 years featured the superstars of today and yesterday, and this year for the 60th will be no exception, with Tony and Cruz Pedregon, Tim Wilkerson, Chris Karamisines, Bruce Litton, Melanie Troxell, the DRO Nostalgia Funny Car Series racing, and “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, TV Tommy Ivo, Austin Coil, and others “bench racing.” stated Jim “Tazz” Hines, PR Director for CDP. “ We have audio streamed the event for the last few seasons, and the response from all over has been tremendous. When the opportunity to have Chad and Brian from BANGSHIFT.COM cover the race came up, we jumped at the chance. Their outstanding coverage of the March Meet, the Heritage Series, and other notable events made this a no-brainer.”
“We are honored to be part of such an historical event.” Said Chad Reynolds of BangShift.com, “this will definitely be one of our most anticipated stops this season, we are thrilled to not only bring the World Series to the masses, but to be there ourselves as race fans.”

Sorry to hear some of the regulars won't be there this year, but we will keep you there in spirit.

The Sin City car won't make the scene this year, but I will be there doing the clutch for Bazz in the Down Under Thunder NFC.

Norm is coming, and I have to check in with Greg to see if he is coming over.
