Hi gang. When Randy and I talked about it last, we were thinking that we might do it during the Fuel Altered Nationals? Is that date set yet? bp

Ok, the news of the last couple of days. Remember you heard it here first!!

The Fuel Altered Race is a go, 2 8-car fields and will be the same weekend as last year. The 3rd week in Aug. I don't have the dates in front of me right now.

Gerald {one of the track owners} is glad we all want to come back! The 15th or whatever that weekend is will still work if we want it.

I fig we should discuss this here on the board. If everyone is going to come to the Draglist Nats, it would be cool to be having a fuel Altered race for added entertainment. That is the upside. Having you guys and girls around for the weekend and mixing it together would make most everyones weekend even better!

Now some of my concerns, or thoughts if we combine our Draglist with the WFAN race:

The track will be busier, that is more cars and more regimented on Sat. We probably would try to get there earlier on Fri, as we would pretty much have the run of the joint that day. The WFAN will have a Friday night qualifier. I know for sure we still could get some runs in on Sat. I think last year the 2nd qualifer was going to be around 2:00PM, with the races going off at 6-8-10PM.

We all would want to get our motel rooms set early, as the hotels will fill up I would think.

Those of us who are racing would not have the free time we had last year to just visit as much. One cure for that is we could hold over if everyone could and hang out together on Sunday. I am sure we could find something to talk about!! LOL

The cost of getting in would be up. Last year I think it was 10-20 bucks to run our cars, and 5-bucks for the rest of us. The spectator fee for the WFAN is 15 or 20-bucks. Still very cheap for the racing you get to see, but more than the 5-bucks for 2-days last year. I know there was a 2-days special, maybe 25-bucks. I just don't remember.

As you can see, most of my concerns are around not being a Draglist Nat's "Headliner" event for BP, who is truely the backbone of our little world here, and the cost to everyone in addition to the cost of getting here. The other thing is I know how busy it is to run the car at an event, which means I miss time hanging out with everyone as much as last year.

Lets hear some responses, thoughts, ideas from the greatest people on the net. As you know from last year. This is a MUST ATTEND event! :D

That all works for me. The $25.00 thing for two days of racing is a drop in the bucket. Every time I ran this season, it cost me $100.00 plus the usual $25.00 entry which was for one day.

The time of year sounds great also, I'm sure there will be plenty of time to socialize.

 I'm not sure if Mike was a yea or a nay on the August date! Or the July 15th date? I'm open to anything. I'm glad they want us back and we'll do whatever we can to make it special...

Was everybody OK with the format last year? Any new ideas for this year? I'd like it to stay FUN and not turn into WORK, but I think it would be neat to have a few more things going on. Ideas? bp
