Day two of the 2019 Draglist Nationals ended with our own Daryl Arnold getting his first pass in a blown alcohol funny car! Here are pics of the day, including a full video of Daryl's first fire up in the funny car! bp

When we got here Friday, the fuel gauge showed half full, or half empty, if you will. I figured we’d fill up when we left Sunday. Well, I misjudged how much the generator drinks and when the tank if at a quarter, it shuts down so you’ll at least have enough fuel to get to a gas station. Margie was enjoying the nice cool AC while I was at the far end of the track for the photo shoot. Yip, generator shut down, and with it, the nice cool breeze. Now I have to walk roughly three quarters of a mile to get back here, fold everything up and go fill up the motor home with gas. Left, and got back before anyone knew we were gone. Now it’s back to enjoying all the noises and smells.

Back to the hotel. I decided to not even download the photos/video of the day as I still have the software issue. Time might be better spent passing out until morning. So, I'll be postin' when we get home. Great weather and a great time at DLN's 14.

Having a great time for sure. Got to spend some time with Brian Lohnes announcing the race. Introduced him to all the Super Crew. Met Ohio Dave's lovely wife Terri, who was super nice. Saw all our funny car pals, and Daryl did two FULL passes of 7.67-177 and 7.70-176 to complete a dream weekend. Talked to Bret on the phone and put him on with Daryl to congratulate him on the runs. Bret was in our group photo (he was on the phone I held up!) Here is a link to some photos.

Back home safely after a great 2019 Draglist Nationals. We had a great time but missed a lot of our friends. Thanks to Gary for another great set of commemorative decals. Congrats to Daryl for the three solid runs in a blown alcohol funny car! Already thinking about next year and after three years in Pittsburgh, it's time to pick a new temporary home. Early thoughts surround Michigan and Northern Ohio, but that was just a discussion in the last hour of the 2019 event! Let's chat it up and come up with some ideas! bp

Just made it home a few minutes ago. I picked a few fast lane drives and followed them to a new low E.T. for the return trip.

Downloading photos as I type. I'll see what I can get done before I crash for thew day.

94.1°f outside, but it doesn't feel that bad. Low humidity and a breeze.

Just gotta say - WOW!!! What a weekend!!! Started off on Thursday evening with the boat ride on the river with BP and Denise and some good food, thankfully it didn't rain long and we were treated to a gorgeous sky and sunset, then up the incline to check out the city lights. So pretty and so fun!

Friday evening shared a good meal with the other racers and Draglist gang, and then watched Daryl make his debut in a funny car! I sure was a lot less nervous after that first pass was under his belt! Saturday brought on 2 more picture perfect passed and the fact that our friends got to witness it made it that much more special. It was a dream come true for Daryl. Thanks to all of you who took pics and videos and for sharing them with us. Gary, I see you've started posting yours, they look awesome!

Sue, I was so hoping this would be the year I'd get to see you again but I'm glad we keep up with each other on social media. Zappy & Linda and Danny & Gena we sure missed spending time with you guys this year but hopefully next year will be better and we can all be together again. I actually had a little bit of fudge left over so I guess my coworkers will get a treat tomorrow when I have to go back to work.

And I think Dragway 42 would be a good place to have the DLN's some year. There is tons of stuff to do and see in northeast Ohio...Cleveland, Akron, Canton, amish country, Cuyahoga Valley area, etc. Just my 2 cents!
