My father was one of the owners of the SGF Dragway. He doesn't talk about it much and has not been to the museum or the reunions. I'm not sure why and I don't force the issue. I'm glad to see others trying to revive the old memories and friendships. I was very young when he had the strip. It was shortly after he raced at Daytona and I was like 10 years old when he built it. I remember some of the names mentioned in this forum but most of all remember the concession stand as thats where my mom worked and where I hung as a youngster. I remember Bud Gilman one of the announcers and his Vette, which I believe he still had last I knew. I remember Jack Krause (spelling?) one of the other owners and forgot who the third owner was. My dad sold out at some point and the strip survived a number of years and even had snowmobile drags at one point.
