Great Concert on PBS Last Night

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

Norah Jones on Austin City Limits...she is awesome...voice as smooth as silk, great band backing her up, she is moving from instrument to instrument and playing 'em all with authority and creative flourishes, and she is beautiful...great show...funky, soulful, folky and totally original. Oh, my sweet Norah, let me be your lap-kitty...Cheers, WC1

I was surprised (but pleasantly) to hear her on the soundtrack for Ken Burns' "The War" on PBS. She is so, so young for the topic, but it worked. bp

To see and hear her playing the songs she does belies the youthful beauty she exudes. It is the voice of a mature, streetwise and experienced woman, who has suffered life's hardships in all areas, coming out of this cute little babe...she showed a few signs of self-consciousness and maybe even a little stage fright. Her interaction with the audience was limited to just a few words and an occasional smile...in the interview they did with her after the show, she opened up and talked straight-out about her life, her music, her style, the subject matter she deals with, and how she put it all together. She feels as if she's finally hitting her stride creatively, as a musician and as a person. She is a wonderful, down-to-earth lady. Yeah, Norah! I'm a fan...Cheers, WC1
I'm putting the Wikipedia URL in because her official website required me to download some software before I could view it...Cat
