That's interesting, Maritime...I could talk hi-tech and say I hacked into your database and pirated those groups, but if we're the same age, I guess that explains it right there! Heck, there are a lot of groups and solo artists I enjoy and could call my favorites. Back in my teens, I was big on Gary Lewis and the Playboys...what I learned later was that they had Leon Russell arranging their stuff, and top-flight session men playing the tracks...Herman's Hermits, same deal but over in the UK. The 4 albums they made in the mid-60s were unbelievably good...the musicianship stood out and was in a class with the best bands around back then. The Monkees made great records, we all know what the deal was with them, but the music and songwriting was great...I dig Tom Waits, Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Mellencamp (my favorite Mellencamp album is "Human Wheels", which was not a hit) various blues and off-the-wall rock 'n roll outfits...Todd Rundgren...Edgar Winter...Peter Gabriel...not real big on the 'Cops, they were icons of the 80s but they sound dated and I'm not down with Sting on his save the planet stuff...Paul Simon...Sheryl Crow...getting Birthday calls...gotta run...WC1
Back...Frank Zappa...what if Frank Zappa would have been a drag racer?
