I got a couple of iTunes gift certificates for Christmas, and I really put them to good use. I have been enjoying the hell out of a great cross section of songs by the late modern country pioneer Gram Parsons. I also bought almost all of George Harrison's early post Beatles stuff and holy cow, what have I been missing all these years? I remember really liking his singles when I was a kid, but I never bought the complete albums until this past year. Some of the best music I've ever heard. Topped off my purchases with select tunes from McCartney's Band on the Run album (Jet, Helen Wheels, etc.), Dark Star from CSN, The Captain of Her Heart by Blue, plus a bunch of Mark Knopfler (got to get everything he's done). OH... and...

I had a couple thousand points on my American Express card... I usually don't go in for these "points" deals -- too hard to keep track of -- but Amex keeps a tally and lets me know every month. The other day I found that I had enough to upgrade my iPod headphones to the Bose models. OMG! These things sound AMAZING! I'm reminded of my first set of Koss Pro4X (sp?) headphones that I had in the early 80s. INCREDIBLE SOUND -- the base they get out of these tiny, tiny things is amazing. Get a set and get ready for a SEA CHANGE in the quality of music your iPod delivers. bp

Haven't been listening to any music lately. I had to stop the daily walks for the last couple of months because of an ankle injury so my IPod is just gathering dust. Hopefully another week or so and I should be back at it again.
