Great sober Garcia vocals and guitar work. Film is called "Downhill From
Here". The Dead were always pretty self-effacing...a quality I enjoy in musicians and racers, alike. Recorded about a month after the Dylan tour.

Spent a good chunk of the weekend in the garage so of course had to have the music jacked up. You know, just not quite loud enough to tick off the neighbors.
Pretty basic listening list, Robin Trower (Live), early Blue Cheer, a little bit of Zep, and one of my favorites, Foghat.
Just getting into the zone.

Murf.... just tonight i put together a 100w per channel amp/speaker combo out of used stuff i was ready to throw away... for my brother John who rents from me downstairs... plugged in his portable CD player.,,, he isGood toGo to say the least ..... great song selection... that you posted

Sometimes a person can be soooo dumb - Son in law just gave me a killer set of computer speakers for my workshop. Told him I didn't have a computer out there and he just laughed at me. I've been tinkering around out there all these years with my ear buds in, the tunes cranked up and totally oblivious to the phone or the dogs barking or tools not sounding right. I didn't know you could just plug your Ipod into those things(DUH!!)

Downloaded the top 100 of 1969 from a bit torrent site and I have come to the conclusion that even after almost 40 years "Bubble Gum" music still blows(pun intended). Hard to believe anyone listened to that crap at the same time Woodstock was happening. Sadly enough Country Music has changed far too much over the same time period.

Most blew but some good old gems in there....
Today we have the iTunes blasting through PC speakers. Amazing how good this technology still sounds. I still have a project to hook up the old 1981 era big volume stereo to the iTunes. gotta get that done before outdoor weather!
Today, it's been Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Bros., a little Vivaldi (had to hear the piece that Emily and Nate played last weekend), the Proclaimers, a little blues, and more as it comes... bp
