Wow... great stuff. Had a mini happy hour after work yesterday. I popped five bucks into the new high tech jukebox and got pretty good props from the gang on the selections.... some of the albums offered had better stuff on them than the limited cuts the jukebox offered, but that made it easier to skip some albums and keep moving down the list...

Spill the Wine - Eric Burdon
Love Shack - B52s
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Personal Jesus - Johnny Cash
Keep your hands to yourself - Black Crowes (right?)
White Room - Cream
American Idiot - Green Day
When September Comes - Green Day

I played 16 songs with a five spot (what a racket)... can't remember the rest off hand but they were well received and we had fun...

On the personal ipod, I have really been enjoying Blues Traveler (the Bridge) album. Great stuff there. Four Lifetimes, of course, plus lots more... bp

That's the guys... who what did I play by the Black Crowes? The big one they had out at about the same time. Also, I just remembered that I played The Cult -- She Sells Sanctuary. Thanks, guys! bp

With as checkered a career as the Black Crowes have had (fistfights with each other and management, personnel spasms, getting signed and eventually fired by a label that wanted them to wear overalls and straw hats (they said no and the label wouldn't do anything for them after that, but after they hit the big-time, the formerly limited-release album they recorded for them suddenly appeared on the market with the head of the label listed as executive producer...a lie, say the Crowes), getting kicked off a tour opening for ZZTop because they wouldn't acknowledge a sponsorship and they said so on stage, making a whole album about drugs and then not ever having it released, becoming rock n' roll spokespeople for NORML and using the big leaf as their stage logo on tour, busting up the band partnership and going through deox, rehab, jail, divorces and tabloid-fodder escapades in Hollywood, but they're still together...whereas the Georgia Satellites had already broken up and gone on to day jobs and other bands by the time "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" became a hit. They had to look up those guys, get 'em back together and make 'em do a tour. Word on the street was they broke up again after their one-hit wonder deal...but damn, that was a great song...Cheers, WC1

Thanks, Cat. This thread has started acting up, so I just split it. The original thread will rename with the same name and will be locked. bp
