Yesterday I took George down to Phantom Kruiser Mike's house (between Manvel and Alvin off Highway 6), where he and Phantom Kruiser Lupe were working on his '36 Chevy. Lupe's a body man and he was fixing Mike's right rear fender where a lady backed into his car in the parking lot at T-Bone Tom's last Friday night. Crunched it pretty good, but Mike is planning on a new paint job soon, so this happened at a "good" time, if there ever is such a thing for a hot rod to get hit like that...anyway, I show up and 15 minutes later George looks like this. They did the Rapid version #2 of taking the door panel out and carefully pushing the dent back out. All that remains from the incident is a baseball-sized indentation in the upper left area of where the original dent was. You have to look for it before you can see it...Lupe said I could take it in and have it tapped out, a little bondo and sanding and some new paint over it and it'd be like factory-fresh, but Mike said aw, what the heck...it looks great unless somebody wants to get up close and pick it apart like they do at car shows. I am extremely pleased! George is also happy, Debby's fine, and life is good! Cheers, WC1
