The Night Shift

Here's where we go to kick back after the races with our pals. Pour a tall one, punch a few buttons on the jukebox, and relax...

That's great and it's great to you and Lynn got together for chat. I wonder what he thinks about your new gig... bp

Lynn came over after we finished and we hung out for about half an hour, got caught up on what we've been up to, had a good visit. He let me borrow his amp for our set...He told me he had no idea that I was such an integral part of the band's show. He thought my gig was just to back up Pee Wee...and it is, when Pee Wee is singing. But Pee Wee has pushed me to the front a lot, and he's worked me into doing main harmony parts with him...yesterday I did 3 songs in our set while Pee Wee took a break. It worked out fine. I kept the momentum going, did my thing, and Pee Wee got offstage, caught his breath, got calmed down, and came back up. Lynn thought it was all very cool. We delivered an explosive set. Pee Wee can croon as smooth as silk, belt out a solid blues shuffle, or he can release a primal howl that gives me chills to hear to this day. The man is gifted with the voice of an angel. I was just so damn proud...not smart-ass proud, just very mellow and happy after our set. I suppose I could rave on, but you get the picture. My back got slapped a lot last night. When I left, I stopped by and gave Pee Wee a hug...he picked me up and bear-hugged me...liked to squeezed me to death...he was happy, too. Cheers, WC1

Thanks, Doc...I am sending him a CD of "Four Lifetimes". I dreamed about the Citykings last night. Anyway, here's a t-shirt design I made for Colorado today, he is the guitar player for the Freedom River Band...I played with him in that band for a year between 2005-06. He's got a power trio called The Fossils and they have a gig coming up at Minute Maid Park during an Astros game. He asked me if I could come up with something for their t-shirts. Here's what I sent him. He dug it...Cheers, WC1
