Recommendations for an engine builder in South Florida

Postby scobo » Thu Jul 09, 2009 7:26 am

Greetings, I would like any recommendations on reputable engine builders in and around the South Florida area, preferably one that can also dyno-tune the motor. I purchased an ex-Pro Stock motor (DRCE block, Pontiac heads, etc.) and am interested in a shop with experience on rebuilding this type of engine. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the recommendations. I will contact Billy Carroll and will also contact Scotty if you can give me an idea of where in Tampa he might be working. Thanks again for the help.

Progressive Racing Engines in North Miami

Postby scobo » Fri Jul 17, 2009 12:20 pm

Greetings,

I contacted Billy and he recommended I contact Progressive Racing Engines in North Miami. I will give them a call and discuss my engine needs.

I've also been in contact with Reher-Morrison in TX, I believe that they can handle the rebuild, but the cost just to get the engine out to them is $1200 (Fed EX). If you have ever shipped an engine with another carrier for a more reasonable cost please let me know.

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.

How South, are we talking Miami or Ft Lauderdale?
There are very few left down here in Miami,
But a few hang on nonetheless
